A professional service firm in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig confirmed that one of their employees has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In a statement Saturday, Deloitte Philippines said that a “colleague” of theirs is currently in hospital receiving treatment and further tests.”
It was unclear, however, if the employee was among the two new reported cases of COVID-19 in the country.

The Department of Health on Friday reported that a 62-year-old man with no history of travel to affected countries, and a 48-year-old lawyer who was recently in Japan, tested positive for the disease.

“Deloitte is supporting the colleague and family in every way we can,” the firm said.

The firm said it has taken all necessary actions to “manage the situation,” and has been complying with the health department’s directions and instructions.

“The health and safety of our people, our clients, and our community is our highest priority,” it said.

Deloitte Philippines said all those who were in contact with the employee who tested positive have been informed about the situation and has been scheduled for “appropriate checks.”

“We continue to monitor and manage the COVID-19 situation in order to respond as necessary,” it said.
