The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) has decided to pass all of its students this semester in view of the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) global pandemic.

PLM President Noel Leyco announced on Wednesday, April 22, that the Board of Regents unanimously decided to give all students passing marks "in recognition of the extremely serious impact of COVID-19' on their academic life."

However, Leyco explained that the "pass" marks will not be part of the computation for the students' general weighted average.

The passing mark applies to students currently enrolled for the second semester or trimester. Graduating students will not be required to undergo their panel defense but should still submit their theses.

Graduate students will also be granted a one-year extension to finish their thesis requirements.

Those undergoing internship would have to complete an "alternative activities" assigned by their respective colleges before they could get the passing mark.

The PLM President added that academic year 2019-2020 will still end on May 23, 2020.
